Can't apply key to character

So I received my level 40 boost key and entered it in my account. I then logged in and it said that I now had my key. I then got unto my account and my level 16 mage, the only character I have, and poked around looking for an item or something that would give me my level 40ness my loot and my mount. No dice. If anyone can give me a hand it would be much appreciated!
