Thanks for the feedback! I always enjoy having chats about UX, and you've touched on an important area, new user experience, which is always something we want to improve. I know the first time I played rift I felt the same way you've described, misconceptions about roles and the skill tree. We tried to add some messaging to help players realize they weren't locked into roles at character creation, but there's more that we could do.We do have a few things we'd like to improve/change within the skill tree, coming down the pipeline, so I'll certainly add some of these ideas to that conversation.
