I cannot log into my main character.

I log into the game, get to character select, click on Play, the loading screen comes up, goes through the motions, I hear game sounds for a second, and then a pop-up that says I am disconnected from the server.

This only happens with my main character. All others log in just fine.

I have tried repairing rift.

Crashed during character creation

When I started it back up, I found that I now have a character with a name, but without my having done any customization to the toon. EG she has all randomly generated physical features, sadly none of which I would have selected on my own.

How can this be fixed?

Please make tank trinkets useful with a shielding healer again

With the new changes to in game shielding and the shield cap, the inherent advantage of the raid tier tank trinket (ie having an additional, but slightly less strong) CD shield has been effectively removed IF you happen to be using a healer which shields you. If you are using purely a throughput healer however it still confers its full benefit. This is because the shield from the trinket is counted within your personal shield cap.

Would it be possible (given the minute CD on this item) to either make it NOT counted by the shield cap, or like the tank CD's apply a buff which raises your shield cap by its shield value when activated.

Its a small issue I guess, but given it will now be more difficult to actually get your hands on the trinket anyway with the loot drop changes, it would be nice to have it always working to its full potential whatever healing setup you are using.

Primalist can't equip Frontrunner's Hoop

The "Frontrunner's Hoop" earring on the Rift store is restricted to the original 4 callings, it can't be equipped by all the new primalists running around for that 10% boost. Is this intended, or something that got overlooked?

URGENT PROBLEM with AH

I posted 33 of the new Blinding Planar Dream Orbs on the AH for a 12h sale at 295.99p each. I checked to make sure the value was correct (cackling at the high total price) and pressed "create auction". I was a bit surprised to see a sale notice in my chat log shortly thereafter, and went to pick up my hoard of cash. Instead of more than 9000p, though, I got only 457p. I figured it was a partial sale and went to check, just in case. They were all gone! I looked in my log to see what the AH "deposit" was on the posting - 2.9325p, correct for the 456.9612 total sale that was recorded. But this was NOT what I was shown when I pressed "create auction" - I'm 100% certain, as I chuckled with my friends over how much money I was going to make. This bug needs to be fixed, ASAP. Also, I need some compensation, please.

Oven of good fortune

First bit of a rant with this, isn't the 850 credits for the recipe(Figured it would be credit bound only, so I saved up). But in order to make the good fortunes, you need "Sugar" which is by credits only(25 creds a pop). Once again, had some creds saved up, so bought 10 sugars.

Made the fortunes and got fortune cookie proverbs....That's it. 250 creds flushed down the toilet, and I got proverbs?

Really? No....Really?

It was mentioned that when reducing the amount a shield can cover a target you would also lower the outgoing damage of mobs to compensate. Did this go live or was this part of "T1 and T2 now do 10% less damage"?

Short Question First:

What are the best / most recommended trios of crafting professions for each class?



Long Question Second:

New to the game as of three days ago, discovered crafting and love it.

Few things about me:

1) Offensive Mage - "I make the bad guys go boomies!"
  • Role #1: The Beginner [Necromancy, Elementalist, Dominator]
  • Role #2: The Blue Fox Mage *Custom* [Stormcaller, Elementalist, Chloromancer]

2) I'm an Anxious Perfectionist - "But are you SURE this is the RIGHT one? The BEST one? I don't want to be doing it wrong!"


3) Current trio: Foraging, Apothecary, Artificing. - "I like to pick flowers and smash them into cocktails, then blame them when I break my accessories."


"What should I be doing craft-trio-wise with these mage builds?"

Planar Fishing and Lure changes with 3.4

As of 3.4, lures will be required to fish up imperishables with planar crafted poles.

It is way, way too late to make a change like this.

I would say at this point that planar fishing, while great in its concept, was a failure in its execution. It is unforgivable not to have foreseen the effect that botters would have on the imperishable market. Consider the absurdly high cost of a one time use recipe, coupled with the material cost of an item that no longer works as advertised, and now the game has once again been balanced around botters instead of honest players.

I propose the following: remove planar fishing from the game. Allow crafters to turn in their poles and lures, and return the marks and materials to the crafters. Learn from this mistake, and do not make it again.

Recently downloaded game & have a few questions:

1) I'm from the UK but have defaulted to North American shard, is there any issues with starting a new character on European servers?

2) Spent £20 & used it on unlocking inventory slots & buying 4th profession.

a) do these carry over to all other characters?
b) I have about 250 crystals left - do these transfer over?
c) If I delete my character what happens to any currencies?, happy for all in-game to disappear but not the paid ones!

3) What is the limit to number of characters allowed?


Thanks in advance - quite a steep learning curve as is my first ever MMO (WoW's subscription always turned me off - don't mind paying once I see what I'm getting)

About Puri and Sentinel

Since I am quite a noob at healing and couldn't figure it out on pts on my own: With the shielding changes now in the game, what will be the best spec for tank healing clerics? Will it still be 61 Puri or will Sentinel be preferable on some occasions? Or will we even see a hybrid?

We are a very casual/social guild, consisting of mostly working adults who play for the fun of the game. Our hours vary, but most of us play on East Coast time, and while someone is usually on at any given point during the day, evenings are usually busier...you know, the whole job thing and all that. :hitting-self:

We are looking to increase our ranks with others who enjoy playing in a relaxed, casual environment without stress to conform to a certain class, role or style. We are not currently raiding, but are not opposed to getting groups together to do it for fun. We never take ourselves too seriously, and enjoy helping others learn and grow in the game.

3.4 Into the Wilds - Whats in it for Dimensions?

Just remember folks this is a massive content update for Primalist & Planetouched Wilds.

Updates are to match this. 3.5 seems to currently be the target for more updates many have been asking for so enjoy 3.4 knowing the following patchnotes:

NIGHTMARE ARTIFACTS
"Do you dream about artifacts? Are they nice, happy dreams of you finding that one Epic Artifact you've been hunting for weeks? ... Or are they terrible nightmares about getting stuck in some dreadful crevice, only to harvest the same shiny you got the last six times? I know I dream about them, especially after placing them for days on end. And let me tell you: they are not always good dreams. So now?

As Telarans frolic through the planes happily looking for shinies, there is a chance to be struck by a poison. This poison will do a small amount of damage over time, but will have the added effect of allowing you to see Poison Artifacts that have an eerie green hue.

As you harvest, Poison Artifacts, know that each one has a chance to place an additional damage over time effect on you that will pile on more damage. But with more risk comes more reward: this additional debuff will allow you to see the orange glow of Burning Artifacts.

Burning artifacts are not only hot, they are the stuff of nightmares. Harvesting these can apply a final damage over time that will allow you to see the elusive and ephemeral Nightmare Artifacts. Take care, dear Shiny Hunter, the damage you are taking now is not insignificant. Keep an eye on your health as you search for these, and be aware that hunting Nightmare Artifacts can Poison, Burn and give you nightmares, while refreshing all three damage over time effects.

Any of these effects can be removed with a simple click-- but then, you will no longer be able to see their associated Artifacts.

Additional details:
* Poison, Burning and Nightmare Artifacts are found in the Planetouched Wilds.
* Normal Artifacts can give you Poison Artifact Sight.
* Poison Artifacts can give you Burning Artifact Sight.
* Burning Artifacts can give you Nightmare Artifact Sight.
* Nightmare Artifacts can give you all of the above!
* The higher the rarity of the collected artifact, the higher the chance of getting the DOT!
* All 4 artifact types have their own individual collections to finish, with over 80 collections and over 600 artifacts in all!
You need this info if you would like the rewards: A dancing NPC for each race, a male and female of each.

Yes new colored marble tiles are part of the puzzle, there is a ton of steps to it not sure how far it goes to unlock the hub above Caldwelli but what I do know is the community will be abuzz trying to figure it all out and guides usually go up quickly so the more or try the quicker this happens!

I see all the nerfs. I thought our dots were supposed to get a slight dps upgrade to offset some of this? I see Shadow Strike was upgraded. But what happened to the dots doing more damage?

will i be able to run this on max settings and what frames should i get in raids?

Hey guys i played this a long while ago and i am wanting to return i am still a low level. was wondering what frames will i be able to get with my specs.

"Rage of Laethys" crystal portion of IGP is broken...

Tonight we got to the 4th boss of this raid and never was able to get past the heal crystal portion of the fight. After trying to do this several times, we called it since it was late. We hope to come back in to finish this raid at a later date.

However, I went to view the video posted on this particular fight and found that the guide maker actually comments that this particular aspect of the fight is not working. So now I understand why none of my direct healing worked.

Healers Blessing or Caregivers Blessing

Hey guys, PvP healer here.

I'm looking at these two abilities and it seems like Caregivers shields for more than Healers heals. What I am unsure of is if Healers Blessing applies to every tick of a channeled heal or not. I run purifier, so if so, that would greatly help my ST healing. Otherwise, Caregivers would be the way to go, since it's tooltip value is higher.

What does everyone else use and why?

New Titles Suggestion

I suggest that we get titles that relate to a soul that has the most points. The titles could either be prefixes or suffixes. For example, if Bob has a 61 pyromancer, then Bob could get the Pyromancer title. He could be either Pyromancer Bob, Bob, Pyromancer, or Bob The Pyromancer. Likewise, if Bob uses one of the presets, say Gravelord, then Bob would get the title "Gravelord."

Well, right now on Live, Mage/Cleric cannot crit when healing and have no spellpower scaling, while Warrior/Rogue can crit while healing and have attack power scaling. As of tomorrow, all four abilities have scaling and none of them can crit while healing. As for AoE vs. ST, we could review that but I fear changing the Mage/Cleric ones to be AoE would lower their damage enough that they're no longer useful. The mechanical distinction isn't inherently problematic as long as both are useful to their callings in different situations (for instance, Soul Stream's interaction with Approbation, for instance, would go away if Soul Stream was AoE)

Need some suggestions please

I am just now getting to do IGP for the first time. I have Chloro raid healer and use the Pyromancer for ranged dps. Neither build is very good for the 2nd boss fight in IGP. Disconnects all over the place because you have to constantly be moving in that fight. Makes me sad that I can't use either build I do have setup.

I am looking into something that will do well enough for a fight that requires movement but most of the chron builds I've been looking at are so micro-managing that it takes the fun out of the encounters because I have to constantly be looking at my hot keys instead of the actual fight itself.

Is there any mage build that would work for that 2nd boss in IGP that does not require so much mico-management?

Hi guys, The buff you're all discussing is really a bugfix. Most Shaman attacks had base damage (not scaling values) that skewed a little low for our damage formula. When I generated Shaman mana changes, the damage values also changed as the script corrected this issue. This is why what you're seeing is a baseline value buff to attacks, and not a gameplay-targeted change to talents or root abilities. Because this was a base value (and not a scaling) buff, it looks like less the better-geared your test character is. On PTS, Shaman has been parsing very competitively with other melee DPS specs. It does suffer from fights that don't work well with its cooldown timing, though, and certainly has some other usability issues. We can certainly stand to improve both Shaman and Inquisitor DPS - in the short term I'm going to be increasing the value on Diversify up to 3% per stack, which is also small, but should help both specs keep on par. Also in 3.4, Soul Stream gains a Spellpower scaling ratio as part of a fix to all the Stream/Variation masteries to give them parity, which will further help Inquisitor stay afloat. Game balance in MMOs is a neverending battle to solve a multi-hundred variable equation, but we will keep soldiering on in our efforts to keep all callings close to equal in their ability to contribute to raids as the role the player wants to play.

That is, given an appearance name like (example only) "Skenobar Family Claymore", determine which items provide that wardrobe appearance.

If you guys could add a new field to to the Site & App Builders (each item in Items.xml), I'd release a site that does this in short order. I already have one made that keys off the icon (so it shows items with the same icon as the given item), and that sometimes helps but usually doesn't.

Furthering Wardrobe Weapon Options

I love how the wardrobe system works and spend (or waste - however you look at it) tons of time tweaking things to make the look just right. Probably the only thing that I'd like to see happen to make it even better is some type of option to use either a 2-handed or mh/oh combination of weapons.

Obviously the look would be purely cosmetic, and even if it costs credits to unlock I believe a lot of people would pony up the cash. Being a mage and having a good staff instead of a good sword/totem combo really does limit my wardrobe options and it'd be great to have some way to change my look.

Also... why can't I make an offhand totem/weapon look like a shield - even on classes that don't normally use a shield... I personally want to be a mage tank who *looks* like a warrior tank.

It's all just cosmetic and apart from maybe fooling people in pvp into thinking you have a shield equipped i don't see anything wrong with it. Sorry for the huge post but I enjoy playing dress-up with my pixels a lot and would love some feedback or direction if these issues have been addressed before.

Furthering Wardrobe Weapon Options

Can't not transfer mules with plat

So I used to move my mules around the shard to buy/sell stuff from AH in different shards. Today I tried to move my mule and it says "You can not transfer this character because this character has too much coin for the character's level," This is obviously new because as of last week I was able to move him around. Was there an announcement? What are the level/plat requirements to be able to transfer shard now?

Edit: This was a level 16 mule. I assume level 65 characters will have no issue, but I have a few level 50 alt/mules so just curious what are the new rules regarding shard transfers and plat.

Graphical bug: Not unplayable but so annoying that I refuse to play.

My main is dark-skinned Kelari Rogue and I really enjoy playing as her but since my graphics card died I have been using the onboard Intel HD 4000 Graphics and it's causing my character to appear completely pale. Restarting the game doesn't help, and I verified my files.

I'm replacing my graphics card soon but I don't understand why the game won't work right with my onboard graphics. I do realize, that I'm lucky to have RIFT work at ALL with my motherboard (because most games do not support onboard video), but my character being so pale is a deal-breaker for me. Nevertheless, I like this game and I can't wait to get back to it.

I also understand that others have experienced this bug and it's been around for a very long time.

I can't wait to see and experience the new maps though.

[RIFT API] event for primalist resource

As stated in the title is there a new event for primalist resource called "focus"?

Something similar to Event.Unit.Detail.Mana and such?

Problem wth T1 tank helmet and savant orbs

I bought the T1 tank helmet from the shop, used without issue the correct rune and after that spent 6 savant orbs which all gave me strength bonus not endurance. Is this normal?
Should I keep trying till I get endurance bonus?.
