yes, I know new ones are coming, but this is less about the presets themselves and more about how new players interact with the soul window...
something I've encountered with new players (and with not so new players talking about when they were new) is that they often level up as the single preset they chose at character creation, and can continue for weeks after hitting max level, without ever discovering that they have more than just the single role or that there is an entire other window behind the preset window.
while I have no problem with the idea of the presets themselves, making things easy for new players helps remove a lot of the confusion they might have with the game, it is also very much an example of "give a man a fish, and he eats for a day" without ever getting to the "but teach him how to fish and you'll feed him for a lifetime".
this can cause new players to struggle with the game when they first reach the max level.
so here are a couple of suggestions for improving a new players fishing skills:
on the preset window, instead of the "close" button, have a "custom" or "build your own" selection with the preset builds that does what the current "close" button does - closes the presets and opens up the blank soul trees for the player to make their own build.
at character creation this might be listed last of the presets, but when you reach max level its moved to the top of the list.
another idea would be to have a popup tip every ten levels or so while leveling, pointing out that the player can have additional roles.
alternatively, at character creation, give the player the option to select two presets with a note that they can switch between them at the soul tree window.
