Disconnects and Lag?

Have been disconnecting every 10-30 seconds while logged into RIFT game, including some other players I have talked to...
Here are the symptoms/observations:

-In addition to myself, two other players I have talked to have are continually disconnecting, after reconnecting it puts us back into game for 20-30 seconds then disconnects us.
-I do not know these people personally, however... we discovered all three of us are from Australia.
-We found a 4th player who seemed to lag heavily every time we disconnected.
-It has only just started happening today.
-RIFT website seems to be a hit and miss too, struggling to access the forums about 50% of the time I need to refresh.
-All other internet services (including US services) are working fine/optimally (it is just RIFT)

Any other players currently experiencing this issue? All we know so far is it is not our personal connections or an ISP issue. Potentially something to do with geolocation. More info from other struggling players would help.
