So I've been around for a long time now, I've seen a lot of mage changes and improvement, but it seems like one of our soul didn't get any love at all, never, you know it too, Elementalist needs an entire rework.
Some of you might think it's useless, because the soul itself doesn't seem to have any purpose, others would prefer to have a discussion about Warlock and as it was mentionned, Warlock doesn't need a huge rework, maybe just a damage buff will be ok.
Anyway I come to you now with some ideas to change the Elementalist, to make it a playable soul, and I would like to know your opinion about these changes, maybe your ideas?
Here we go, First of all, mechanic changes:
Cycle of Earth/Air/Water/fire
-Remove the damage bonus to the next spell
-Reduce the cast time of the next spell by 2.5s
Why? Because the main problem elementalist has is that he can't move at all, by doing this we give it more mobility and the next changes are based on this to make it not OP don't worry.
Elemental Burst
-Now can't consume Elemental Cycles
-Increase the damage of your next ability by 7%
-Now 30s CD
Why? The aim of this change is to create a burst, it is supposed to work with the next change mentionned.
Prismatic Volley
-Can't consume Elemental Cycles
Why? Well, I've said it.
Intensify Elements
-Now has 1 minute CD
Why? Because making a burst ability with 2 minutes CD is so stormlegion (check out harbinger's EA)
Reclaim Elements
-Now restore 50% of mage's maximum health, Sacrifices 50% pet's maximum health
-Remove damage bonus
Why ? Because killing our pet is a weird way to burst, but, now it's an emergency heal ability to give us some survivability
Synergize
-Now restore X healthpoints to the mage when his pet's doing damage
Why ? To give some survivability, again, not too much, enough to do solo pve content with the fire or air elemental
Ice shield
-No more a shield
-Rename it Ice spike, froze and interrupt an enemy for X second, enemies who have been froze can't be frozen again for 45 second (stay cool). 10 Second CD
-Bring it up in the tree at 28 points
Why ? Because why would we need a small shield while we have small autohealing from the pet, now we have some utility
Rushing elements
-I seriously don't know what to do with this one, the fact that the prismatic armor gives a similar proc make it useless
Now that we changed the mechanic, we still have crappy damages, and this is where I need your fabulous brains to try to find a way to balance the damage scaling, the aim here is to make a good DPSing soul, but below Pyro, harbinger and (reworked in the futur) warlock.
