Tech Request: Add a Hook for Shard Switching

I find my self switching shards a lot in my gameplay. It is not terrible to go through the menus to select a shard but it is a two dropdown menu thing. I would like to have an add-on that allows you to just click a button and cycle 'up'/'down' through the shards. And have an option to have a button to press that allowed you to set a shard.

I would program this add-on if there were hooks for shard switching. Of course make it sink a hardware click - happy to have that and therefore it is no different except for convenience between the current in-game mechanism that sinks a hardware click.

I'd be fine if the requested functionality was in either a macro or in the API (or both).
