Back on 15/02/16, Anony addressed a certain "ranged mechanic" you could use on the Arisen Arak fight. This resulted in the 'Enigma' phase being faceroll (a bit like the Hericius bug recently). Read about this here

This was supposedly later addressed with 3.5 Hotfix #11

* Addressed an exploit with tank positioning on the Shadow of C'zyth phase.

Looking at kill videos after the above patch date (including after 18th when it's rolled out to EU), this "ranged mechanic" definitely isn't fixed. Watch the videos yourselves and keep an eye on the mini map during the Shadow of C'zyth phase.

Anyway, moving on. I'm wondering whether you actually have to use this "ranged mechanic". It's complete RNG as to whether you will survive this phase or not. 99% of the time, when we pass the cleanse check the whole raid gets "back cleaved".

Regardless of the threat and GFX being on the tank, the whole raid will get hit and die.

Could I please ask for some clarification as to whether this "ranged mechanic" is actually a perfectly good strat, as looking at videos it seems so.
