Being logged in doesn't mean anything was running in the meantime, it's merely a convenience so you don't have to type out your password every time if you don't want to. Basically your particular installation of the Glyph client has been given a "pass" that says "hey, I've already validated my answers for the next x time period. Please remember me so that I don't have to log in every time." That matches up with something on our side and you don't have to type in your password every time.
