I'm not alone with this issue, but when grouped (Ive not soloed) Pinatas seem to keep the loot you roll on. I won the last roll on a lvl 66 Pinata in Draumheim and I did not receive loot that was rolled on.
Edit: I'm assuming the fact I didn't actually 'loot' the dead piñatas is why I got nothing...silly me.
