Can't get past INTRO vid

When I launch RIFT the intro vid will play and if I try to hit delete or even to wait for the vid to finish it freezes. The in-game mouse style is still functional, which I found odd. It initially sounded like it was thinking so I left it. 20 minutes later there was still no game. I uninstalled the game and tried to reinstall. I tried to play during that playable download phase and it skipped the intro, but I couldn't get passed the loading screen that shows it's trying to connect to the character server. I stopped the install to test my ping and mb/s, which ended up being 32 ms and 25mb/s. When I'm downloading the game however that changes to about 300ms and 5mb/s. I don't know if it's a graphics issue based on the fact that Rocket League runs perfectly and it's a resource hog.

Any help would be appreciated.
